We have extensive experience in the application of GIS (ArcView, MapInfo, QGIS and others) and databases for strategic environmental analysis. We are currently ESRI (UK) and MapInfo business development partners.

We offer a range of services including on-site training and technical support. An idea of the range of services we are able to provide is listed below:

• Set up of standard GIS systems
• Tailored on-site training in the use of ESRI ArcGIS, MapInfo Professional and QGIS
• Development of custom GIS and relational database applications
• Digistising of paper maps and Ordance Survey raster maps to identify potential sources, pathways and receptors

We can assist you in all aspects of spatial and non-spatial data review, creation, conversion, integration and management.

Data Capture and Conversion

As part of our data data capture and conversion services include:

• Collection of data required as an input into the GIS (i.e. GPS surveys) or relational database management systems (RDBMS)
• Conversion of your non-digital data to digital GIS formats – includes scanning, feature recognition raster-to-vector conversion
• GIS digitisation – both heads up (from scanned images, pdf files, documents, aerial photographs, satellite imagery) and heads down (from paper, linen, acetate, microfiche, microfilm)

Data Auditing

As the old adage goes – “garbage in, garbage out”. Therefore ensuring that your system only contains good quality data is vital. We can provide you with a range of spatial and non-spatial data auditing services including:

• Identification and documentation of all sources data
• Reporting on the qualitative and quantitative properties of your data
• Production of metadata reports
• Assessment of data quality
• Production of data improvement plans including cost-benefit analysis
• Provision of data quality assurance

Ensuring that the data one holds is valid is critical to any project. We realise the importance of data quality and have extensive experience of data validation and cleaning. Our data validation services include:
