These FAQs are for issues related to the Copyminder Licence Manager
This error is most frequently a result of specifying a Product Key on a network client machine instead of the CopyMinder Network Path. For a network installation, when a protected program is first run on a client machine, you should select "Configure as a network client" and enter the CopyMinder Network Path provided to you by your Network Administrator.
Description: The protected software was unable to create one of it's required files.
Solution: This is usually due to the user not having the required folder permissions to allow the Copyminder Licence Manager to perform its security check before allowing the software to run. Check that the user (or All Users) has full control over the relevant folders in which the licence manager is installed. These are as follows:
You may receive the 929 error if you are running concurrent user licences and the software is not able to connect to the Copyminder licence manager.
Solution
This may be due to incorrect information being entered into the licence manager ini file. Proceed as follows:
After installing the Network Licence Manager (CMServer.exe) on the new server, you just need to point the clients to the new server. Each product has an licence configuration file which tells the progam where to check for the licence. The locations of the files are as shown below:
GeoEnviron Database : C:\Program Files (x86)\GeoEnviron 8\
CASEMAN.dll.cm.ini or CONTAM.dll.cm.ini or FLOODING.dll.cm.ini etc
MapEagle GIS: i.e. C:\ProgramData\LR\MAPEAGLE_MAPX\cm\mapeaglecm.dll.cm.ini
If the software is using the network licence, you will see a line similar to the below pointing to the old licence manager:
CopyMinderNetworkPath=192.10.11.235:10589
Change the IP address to reflect the new location. The port number will depend on which program you are licencing and the port you set up for the licence manager to listen on for that product.
You will hopefully know what ports you have selected for the different programs. The ports that are normally usually 10589 and 11923. If unsure, you can check which one you used by opening the CMServer.exe dialog. You will need to stop the service to do this.
If the program is running as a single user application you will see the following line instead, so you do not need to do anything.
ProductKey=MAPEAGLE_MAPX-XXXX-XXXX
