Firstly, thank you so much for your time, effort and commitment in managing and finalising our Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) with Harrow Council during a difficult year with COVID related restrictions and delays.
Considering the tough times we are operating within and the somewhat lengthier processing times, capacity issues and change in FRA guidelines at Harrow Drainage Department, I was impressed with the way that you made yourself available throughout the process, remaining flexible to provide updates, interpret requests from the council and make the necessary changes required to finalise the FRA.
You managed multiple stakeholders including me, the Harrow Council case officer, the council drainage department and our architect to resolve queries and update the FRA as needed. You also worked at pace and went above and beyond in your role to explain the situation to us, meet deadlines and turn things round quickly. You were at all times cooperative and professional whilst ensuring that we were well informed.
Many thanks for your help.

Very fast to respond, very patient on all technical discussions/explanations. High-quality report and fast turnaround. Great service.
I hired STM Environmental to prepare a Phase I and Phase II impact assessment for our development site. I was very impressed with both the process that STM used to create the reports and their outputs. The turnaround time was also very quick which was an added bonus.
Communication throughout was excellent, STM were put under pressure due to the nature of the project and timings and they made every effort to accommodate a swift turnaround, including coming to site for 7am. Would definitely use for future works

“We engaged STM Environmental Consultants Ltd to assist the company with its planning application for new housing at Claverhouse, Dundee…
We found that STM’s ability to liaise with SEPA and Dundee City Council was of the highest professional standard, and we would have no hesitation in recommending this company.”
When I read the final report, I found it to be very professional and detailed. The only reason I needed it was to satisfy the planners that I can go ahead with building my new house…nevertheless it was a professional accurate report and I am very happy with it
STM were very pro-active in dealing with significant constraints and measures set by the local authority that needed to be dealt in detail within our contamination and flood risk reports. It made life a lot easier dealing with a team who were always efficient and able to work towards the deadlines we had and we will recommend STM for future work. Thanks again and we will be back soon!
Thank you for the contamination report. I have just heard back from the planning department who have advised me that it meets all their requirements and therefore the environmental officer is recommending approval of my planning application. It has been a pleasure to do business with you, and yours was the most competitive quote I received, and all communications with you have been easy and quick.
I had a Development in east London requiring a contaminated land , SUDS and Flood Risk Assessment so satisfy some planning conditions. I contacted STM Environmental who were able to get this done quickly as needed by myself to satisfy the planning conditions and get the reports to planning quickly.
The job was carried out quickly and in a professional manner and overall I was very happy with the standard of work , the speed at which it got done as time is money in this business , and the overall price of the work was very competitive too. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again
Many thanks for your help on this flood risk assessment. It was a pleasure to work with Patrick on this and hopefully the council will go by the conclusion that a single storey extension will not impact the flow of water.
STM provide an excellent environmental consultancy service . They are good communicators and have worked patiently with us providing advice and support. They produce clear reports that are considered and concise in a timely manner. We intend to recommend them to our clients again.
STM were very professional and efficient. They kept us in touch with what was happening all the time and made the process easy to understand. We are very pleased and satisfied with the outcome of the Permit Application.
“STM Environmental have provided us with an excellent ongoing support since we bought MapEagle in 2007/8 to produce contaminated land searches. During one of our regular update calls I mentioned the need for a little training in MapInfo and STM put together a 1 day training session, tailor made for our needs. The training focussed on specific work we needed to undertake and gave me the skills I needed to move forward with my work.”
“STM Environmental have worked with us on site investigations and have always provided a professional, value service, which was tailored to our needs. As a consequence of STM Environmentals high quality service, ability to manage sensitive situations and meet demanding deadlines, they have become one of our preferred contractors; I look forward to working with them in the future.”
“The GeoEnviron package is the key facilitator of West Oxfordshires Contaminated Land service. Not only does it allow us to undertake rapid site prioritisation and manage cases quickly and efficiently; the intuitive nature of the package and its responsive development team at STM Environmental, allow GeoEnviron to be flexible enough to meet our business needs for the foreseeable future.”
“We’ve been using GeoEnviron for a while now and as we progress with our Part2A work we continue to use more and more of the system. The support from STM has been brilliant and the use of web conferencing to problem solve and explore the more advanced features has been invaluable. As soon as I saw the MapEagle demo I could see how flexible it was and how professional looking were the reports its produced. I am looking forward now to using Pocket ESA along with MapEagle to produce my desktop studies.”
“We have been using both the GeoEnviron Contaminated Land System and the MapEagle GIS Report Writer for a number of years. GeoEnviron manages all our contaminated land data, whilst MapEagle produces an Environmental Search Report with minutes….you certainly can’t fault the back up service from STM.”
“We have used GeoEnviron to prioritise and manage approximately 1,500 potential sites of land contamination and feel MapEagle is invaluable for carrying out environmental search requests. I have found the user group meetings particularly useful as an opportunity to hear how other Local Authorities use the software, to ask questions and sort out any issues I might have. The recent MapEagle user group meeting, for example, enabled me to gain a better understanding of MapEagle in general and improve my reports.”
Sarah has now moved onto Durham where she is using GeoEnviron and MapEagle as well.
